Design a path through the limits

Wix SEO Services for Sites That Outgrew the Template

Wix gives you a fast canvas and a clean editor. It also makes a few decisions for you: how blog posts are routed, how languages are split, how much of the page is script, and which pages a crawler is allowed to keep. Our Wix SEO services work inside those rules — labelling every element, rebuilding the head, and making the pages that matter readable, indexable and quick. Platform limits shape the plan. They do not decide your rankings.

Structured data that validates Multilingual URL and hreflang map Blog and category routing Image weight and alt text Sitemap and index hygiene
01 / Platform baseline

What the platform handles, and what it hands to you

A fair reading of the editor matters more than a list of complaints. Some of the fundamentals are already done for you, and the rest is where the work sits. Neither column is a verdict on the platform.

Already handled
  • HTTPS, CDN delivery and responsive output on every page
  • An XML sitemap that refreshes when you publish
  • Base schema for the site and for some page types
  • A redirect manager for 301 rules after URL changes
  • Language subfolders and hreflang pairing in Multilingual
  • Automatic image resizing and modern formats on the CDN
Left to you
  • Meaningful alt text on every image that carries meaning
  • Titles, descriptions and canonicals per page type
  • Custom JSON-LD where the default markup is too thin
  • Which archive and app pages are allowed in the index
  • Internal links between posts and the pages that sell
  • Page weight added by apps, fonts, video and lightboxes
02 / The six gaps

Blocks we rebuild without leaving the editor

Each of these is a real constraint, and each has a workaround that stays inside the platform's terms. Nothing here needs a fork of the website builder or a hidden script the next update will erase.

1

Structured data beyond the defaults

The platform emits organisation and page-level markup, but product, FAQ, article and service details are often too thin for rich results. We add validated JSON-LD through the custom code field, match it to the visible content, and re-check it after theme updates.

2

Multilingual without duplicate clusters

Language subfolders are generated for you. Trouble starts when the default language is also reachable at root URLs, or when translated pages keep English titles and meta. We map language to URL to canonical, then pair hreflang in both directions.

3

Blog routing and category pages

Post URLs follow a fixed pattern, and tags can multiply archives quickly. We choose which archive types deserve an index entry, keep the category that matches search demand, and link from posts toward the service pages you actually sell.

4

Images that load once

Resizing is automatic, yet uploads still carry large originals for pop-ups and galleries, and the alt field stays empty on most sites. We set alt text per image, swap oversized hero files, and confirm which format reaches a phone on mobile data.

5

Redirects after a redesign

The redirect tool works, and it is easy to burn a hundred rules on one messy migration. We build the map from the old crawl, group patterns where the platform allows it, and keep a change log so the next redesign does not undo the previous one.

6

Sitemaps and pages that should stay out

The auto sitemap lists whatever the platform treats as public. Member areas, thank-you screens, app-generated URLs and internal search results often need to stay out. We reconcile the sitemap against the index and remove what adds noise rather than demand.

03 / Scope

What the inspector shows before we touch anything

We start by reading the live page the way a search engine reads it, not the way the editor previews it. That snapshot becomes the baseline for every change.

Elements

Heading level, alt text, link text and indexable state for every page type: home, service, store, post, category, tag, member area and search results.

Head and metadata

Titles, descriptions, canonicals, Open Graph and language pairs, each with one owner so a later edit cannot quietly overwrite the field.

Content and links

Cluster map, internal links from posts to money pages, and a rewrite list for pages that already receive impressions but not clicks.

Speed budget

Apps, fonts, video embeds and third-party scripts measured against a fixed budget, so a new widget has to earn its place in the load order.

Reporting

One monthly note: pages indexed, queries gained, inquiries attributed, and the next tasks ranked by expected effect.

When the site needs a rebuild rather than a repair, we say so and hand the plan to Website Building Services before a single template is moved. For the writing and metadata layer, On-Page SEO Services sits in the same project plan.

04 / Workflow

Snapshot, label, rebuild, then verify

Step 01

Freeze the current board

Crawl the live site and store the HTML. Every later change is compared against this file, not against memory.

Step 02

Label every element

Headings, images, buttons, forms, app sections. Unlabeled or duplicated elements are listed with the page that owns them.

Step 03

Rebuild the head layer

Titles, schema, canonicals and hreflang. One change per batch, then re-crawl the same URLs and diff the output.

Step 04

Re-point the routes

Redirect map, language folders, archive index rules, and internal links that currently dead-end on a category page.

Step 05

Verify what crawlers see

Rendered HTML, sitemap contents, mobile payload and field data. Anything that regressed is fixed before the report ships.

05 / Field notes

Three Wix sites, three different bottlenecks

A furniture studio, 5 months: organic sessions up 58%, product inquiries 6 → 19 per month after hero images and category routing were corrected.

Retail · Wix Stores

A language school, 4 months: translated pages indexed 12 → 74, trial bookings from organic search up 31% after hreflang and titles were paired.

Education · multilingual

A B2B equipment supplier, 7 months: organic quote requests 3 → 14 per month, mobile LCP 3.8s → 2.1s.

Industrial · service pages

These are outcomes for those accounts, not a forecast. Search performance depends on demand, competition and how fast you can implement.

06 / Commercial

Scope-based quotes, no price list

We quote from scope because two Wix sites are rarely the same job. Page-type count, language count, store size, app stack and the number of legacy URLs determine the estimate. A diagnostic usually takes three to five working days; the implementation then runs in short cycles, with the reason for each change written down.

  • Page-type and element audit
  • Custom JSON-LD layer
  • Language and hreflang map
  • Redirect and route plan
  • Image and alt-text pass
  • Sitemap and index policy
  • Content and cluster briefs
  • Monthly written report

07 / Questions

What Wix owners ask us most

Can a Wix site rank well at all?

Yes. Plenty do. On most sites the platform is not the limiting factor — thin templates, duplicated archives, missing metadata and slow first paint are. Fix those and the platform stops being the story.

Does Wix allow custom schema and code?

Yes, through custom code in site settings and through embed elements on individual pages. We add validated JSON-LD there, keep it documented, and re-test it after a theme release rather than assuming it survived.

How do you handle multilingual sites?

One subfolder per language, self-referencing canonicals, reciprocal hreflang pairs and translated titles and descriptions. The default language has to be canonical, or the translations compete with the original.

Can the blog URL pattern be changed?

Only in limited ways, and rarely worth it after indexing. We work with the existing pattern, organise categories, strengthen internal links, and treat a route change as a migration project with a redirect map, not a settings tweak.

Will extra code make the site slower?

It can, which is why we set a payload budget before adding anything. Schema and meta changes are small. The weight usually comes from apps, fonts, galleries and video, and those are audited separately.

How do you measure progress?

Indexed pages that actually earn impressions, queries gained per cluster, field speed data and inquiries attributable to organic search. Positions are a signal; inquiries are the score.

Do you promise first-page rankings?

No. Nobody controls the ranking system. We commit to a documented audit, implemented fixes, verification and a monthly record of what changed.

Who you are working with

We have optimised site-builder platforms since 2016, including Wix, Squarespace and Webflow, alongside WordPress and Shopify builds. The team is small on purpose: the person who audits your site is the person who writes the implementation notes you receive.

If a request sits outside the platform's terms, we say so and propose a compliant alternative. That protects your account and keeps the work durable across updates.
